Brotato is bringing the guns to the bullet heaven genre… and lots of em’

What is it?
Brotato is a top-down arena shooter rogue-lite where you play a potato wielding up to 6 weapons at a time to fight off hordes of aliens. Choose from a variety of traits and items to create unique builds and survive until help arrives. The game is heavily inspired by the recent success of games like Vampire Survivors and additionally feels like it’s added the elements of item synergy and replayability from titles like The Binding Of Isaac.
Insane value and replayability
The more aliens you kill, the more badass you become. There are a ton of characters available to unlock, each of them featuring their own unique perks. In order to unlock new characters, you’re tasked with completing challenges related to the character itself. After picking the game up for just $2.99 during the recent Steam Summer Sale, I’ve already played over 25 hours according to my Steam playtime. I have to say, I loved every second of it. There’s something about wielding 6 miniguns as a potato, taking down aliens as you become stronger and stronger between each wave.

“Bullet Heaven” is here to stay
The bullet heaven genre, also known as “vampire survivor-like”, has been absolutely blowing up recently. Brotato is the latest great gem in the new genre, coming in with “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews on Steam with over 40.000 reviews total. The genre is clearly making waves as more and more players are looking for new bullet heaven experiences. There are currently a ton of early-access bullet heaven games on Steam, and there’s certainly more to come.
I love this game
To think that this game was made by a single developer, Thomas Gervraud aka Blobfish, makes it even better. Being able to support small indie developers feels great, and I genuinely believe this game is worth every single penny and more. Go give the game a shot, I promise you it’s an absolute blast!
